Opening Of The Green

Since the last news update events have overtaken us. Unfortunately due to Government directives/advice regarding the dreaded Covid 19 virus, our committee has taken the decision to cancel our opening day(the 4th April). 

We will keep a close eye on the Government guidelines and will hopefully be able to schedule another date for opening of the green. Keep watching this website for updates and information.

Opening Of The Green

Summer is almost upon us, and thankfully outdoor bowling. The club opens for 2020 bowling on Saturday the 4th April.

The clubhouse will be open from 12.00hrs when hot dogs and beef burgers will be available and don’t forget your free glass of wine. After you have wined and dined there will be bowling (weather permitting) for those eager to get on the green.

We look forward to welcoming all our existing members, new members and absolute beginners King’s Lynn Bowls Club caters for all bowlers, coaching available for beginners every Wednesday morning, social bowling Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and for the more        experienced/competitive bowler we have many league teams and competitions.

If you are a bowler looking for a new club or have never bowled before come and join our club we will only be to pleased to welcome you into our very friendly club.

Albert Victor League

King’s Lynn “A” team won the Albert Victor League 2019 division two and will be competing in division one next year, well done to the squad,  and John Francis in his first year as a captain.

Upcoming Events

The end of the outdoor season is fast approaching, so a reminder fo events that will take place after the closing of the green (28th September).

Sunday 6th October 10.00am in the clubhouse, don’t miss it! it is your chance to be involved in the running of the club.

Sunday 27th October 12.30 for 1.00pm at the  “The Ffolkes” our presentation dinner see chairman Tony Pinder for tickets.

Saturday 30th November 6.30 for 7.00pm Xmas Bingo in the clubhouse.

The club will be open for New Years Eve!! do not miss it.

Mens and Ladies Triples

The mens and ladies triples competition took place on Saturday the 14th September. Congratulations to Trevor Oakey, Geoff Upton and Alan Clark winners of the mens triples and Helen Young, Linda Oakey and Marian Upton winners of the ladies triples. There is no stopping Helen this year, her 5th succesful final !! well done Helen.

Last weekend was our finals weekend, and a brilliant weekend of bowling it was, the succseful bowlers were.

Well done to all the winning bowlers, and a special mention to Helen who was succseful in the four finals she contested.

 

Ron Pond Trophy

On Sunday the 25th August we held our “Ron Pond Trophy” competition. The competition being mixed triples, six teams took part in a close fought contest. Congratulations to Taylor Scott,   Ron Graham and Kath Pinder who were the winning block on the day and are now the proud holders of the”Ron Pond Trophy” 2019. A special well done to Taylor this being her first season bowling.

Denton Ladies League

Well done those who spotted my deliberate mistake, my previous news update should have read champions (2019) NOT (2020) just getting ahead of myself predicting next years results.

Denton Ladies League

Conratulalations to Captain Christine Abbott and squad for succesfully defending their title, and once again are the champions (2020) of the Denton Ladies League. Our ladies are on fire this year. two league titles in as many  weeks, well done our ladies.

King’s Lynn & District Ladies League

Congratulations to the ladies of ” King’s Lynn Blue” team who were crowned champions of KL&D Ladies League 2019 at yesterdays drive. The shield was presented to captain Sally Oakley by the league secretary Helen Young. WELL DONE LADIES.
